So the jog didn't happen this morning:) Not only when I opened my eyes could I tell that I was sore from my shoulders to my toes, (guess something worked;) but then I was advised by Mr. Radio DJ that it was "still chilly, 39 degrees out." So OK, maybe we'll save the mornings jogs for a few more weeks...
However, I still got a jog IN, just not a jog OUTSIDE. I went with an oldie but goodie, The "Walk Away The Pounds Walk/Jog"...These videos are what actually made me start working out years ago. They're simple, quick and banish almost any excuse you can think of to NOT get yourself up off the couch. So I figured 2 1/2 miles in a half hour was a good way to start today...even if I wasn't sprinting in the sunshine :(
But speaking of sunshine...it totally inspired my breakfast & lunch today. Look who came with me to work!! : I made my Green Monster today as usual:
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1/4 cup dry oats
- 3 ice cubes
- A packed blender of spinach:
Perfectly light & refreshing. Is it weird that it made me oh-so-happy??? (Could be that Friday buzz too;)
And I brought one of my favorite summer lunches. Well, here it is PRE-MIX...
- 1 container FF vanilla yogurt
- (Eventually) Diced Strawberries
- 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
Am I reaching by saying this tastes like a cup of sunshine??? Well, sorry folks...cheesy as it sounds: It does! I love me some winter, but these cloudless, high 60 degree days are intoxicating:)
