So normally we give our finished Peanut Butter jars to Penny, who enjoys nothing more than trying to eek out every last ounce! But since Trader Joe's Almond Butter jars are made out of glass, I figured it would be the perfect time to try yet ANOTHER idea that I had been scoping out on the internet (esp. from
Kristin:) the "Oats in a Jar"....
First we start with an empty jar of butter...with signage;)
Gathered up my ingredients:
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (opppsss...I forgot it for it's closeup!)
- 1/2 cup of oats
- Cinnamon
- And a near dead banana...
Cooked them all together and poured it into the almond buttah jar...And mixed! The genius of this, is that the oatmeal melts the "wall of butter" and mixes it right into your oatmeal! So you get little fabulous spoonful BURST of almond buttery goodness swirled right into your oatsSooooo warm & yummy! And not an ounce goes to waste!
The only bad part was the guilt of watching Penny stare at me as I ate out of "her" beloved jar. Sorry Pen!! The next plastic jar is yours! And thankfully, the oats and peanut butter combo kept me full for Part 2 of my day. So between the cruise & my birthday, I feel like I've been a little bit too indulgent these last few weeks. And after last nights ridiculously decadent dinner (more on that later;), I knew I wanted to kick off this weekend strong...so I had my own personal triathlon at the gym this morning...
Starting with 1 hour of "Groove", which is a dance/cardio class...
Followed by almost an hour on the treadmill. I did a little over 3.5 miles between a moderate walking pace and bursts of jogging....
I really wanted to push this and go over 4 miles, but after 2.5, I REALLY started to feel it!! Not only the
remnants of the crazy
willPower & Grace session, but my feet were starting to feel like cinder blocks when I was jogging...so I slowed it down a bit to save myself for...
Power Yoga! Which was crazy tough, but feels just A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! Even if the teacher decided to throw in some "Goddess Squats"...Seriously, squats: I'm over you!
After that I was a dish rag, but it felt great! Sometimes you just need a major sweat sessh to put you back in the right frame of mind...now I feel ready to be strong this week!
After all of that, I knew EXACTLY what I wanted for lunch....a yogurt/protein powder smoothie...
I just didn't want anything heavy after working out, and this totally fit the bill. It tasted like heaven!!! :)
Alright, well after all that I'm headed for my cousin's 1st birthday party (MORE CAKE????) Have a great day!!! NJ is beautiful again today!!
