So I've been thinking this past week about adding some sort of "health tips" to the blog. I am by NO MEANS an expert in health & fitness...but I have gained SOME insights over the past few years going through this whole weight loss process, and figured I'd post some things that stand out and have worked for me. And I figured there was no better day than MONDAY to post these;) I'll try to post these weekly, as much of a reminder for myself as they are for sharing them with you!! ;)
Tip 1: These are not DIET tips...
And I say this because you can NOT think of your "healthy habits" as a diet. The best advice I have EVER heard was that "if you're on a diet and mess up, it's too easy to blame the diet." It's just passing the proverbial responsibility buck. As soon as you realize YOU are in control and you're making the decisions, I think it puts you in the drivers seat of your journey, rather than being the passenger. Ya know what I mean?? So if you skid off the road and have a bad day, YOU are the one who's going to get back on the straight and narrow. And in the same vein, if you do REALLY great, you can say "ya know what?? I totally kick ass!! I did this!" and you don't have to share the credit with Mr. Atkins or all of South Beach:) hahahahahahahhahaha....
Was that too many metaphors??? I'm tryin;) They'll get better, I promise (and hope;) Let me know if you have any questions. I'll try not to use any more car references;)
