Cruise: Day 6...Grenada

Day 6 brought us to the only island I had visited before, which is lucky for me since it's my very favorite! The people are nice, the island is beautiful and since it is FILLED to the brim with spices (hence why it's called "The island of spice")...
...you get the most awesome smells of cinnamon & nutmeg all around the island! It is THE BEST!
We took a small tour before we hit the beach, and we made a stop at a small spice shop. The island is FILLED with them (which is great for me:) They showed us all the uses for fresh nutmeg, cocoa, cinnamon & saffron...
Even this guy couldn't get enough of the spices...:)
We picked up a few spices and THIS...."Hot Chocolate" made with fresh cocoa beans!
I can't wait to try it out to see if it actually works!

After getting nice and crispy on the beach, we headed back to the ship and discovered a little something at the buffett called "Afternoon Snacks"....which was kind of almost a brunch...but with even MORE desserts....
On that plate is a slice of key lime pie, dulce de leche cheesecake, a waffle with vanilla sauce and whipped cream, some custardy bread pudding and a little "maple sponge cake." I'm not gonna even cop to how much of this plate I actually ate. Nope, I'll never tell...but let's say EVERYTHING was KILLER!! ;)
For dinner that night, I started out with this AWESOME roasted peach soup with strawberries...OH MY, was this heavenly!!!!
And Scott got a garden salad...
Our main course that night was the big Cruise ship spectacular: The Fisherman's Plate with lobster & shrimp! Heaven, pure heaven!!! Although I felt bad for the waiters who had to shuck all those lobsters after they were served...
Dessert was a "dessert sampler trio"....on the right was a soaked little cake, kinda reminiscent of a baba au rhum. The middle cake was just a plain sponge cake, so the piece de resistance was that little chocolate mound of heaven. It tasted like pure ganache and was just SINFUL!
We wrapped up day 6 with some drinks and some singing at the piano bar....
...and then collapsed! We had officially reached the tired point by now! ;)
Here's one other thing I thought I'd share. So ya know how I told you we collect magnets and mugs? Well, here were 2 of my favorite from this trip:
I loved the hand painted look of the St. Lucia one...and how appropriate was the Grenada one???:) I love that it has no handle, since I rarely hold a coffee mug by the handle. Is that weird, or do other people do that too?
