Cruise: Day 5...St. Lucia...

How gorgeous is this view?? This was the start of our tour of St. Lucia...and not to shabby of a way to start, I must say...
Bananas are huge export out of St. Lucia. They make everything from banana bread to banana KETCHUP! Here were some that were just beginning to grow....
And here was a plantation...the blue bags help them to grow and keep the bugs away!
I somehow made it out of St. Lucia WITHOUT trying their banana bread...but I did bring home quite a few souvenirs...so you may see another "taste of St. Lucia" dish soon!

Our van driver jumped out at a random stop and got us a loaf of "local bread" to try....tasted good to me:)
And after our swim in the volcanic mineral springs, we stopped at a little road side stand for some BBQ chicken with a green onion fritter and some "fry bread".....let me tell ya: this tasted like heaven at the time! We were pretty hungry by that point! SOOO GOOD! Especially the fry bread and the BBQ sauce...
Not to mention, we had a heavenly view while we were eating...how great is this??
When we got back to the ship, we were still a little hungry. So what's a vacation without a completely inappropriate snack?? :) So we hit the coffee bar for some cookies!...
Didn't I tell you I was going to show you the bestest cookie?? Well OK, I got that triple chocolate chunck cookie on the bottom...which was all fine and good, until I sampled the "MUDSLIDE" cookie that Scott had gotten. OOOOOMMMMMGGGGGG....I would NEVER ever pick a chocolate cookie for myself...but this thing, to put it mildly: Was really really really really good!!!!
And it didn't help that I made friends with the barista, so every time I went back to get a cookie, he promptly gave me a plate of 3 :) hahahahahhahahahaha....loved him!
MANY hours later (*wink, wink...or an hour, but who's counting??:) we sat down to dinner....and check out our view for the evening! The captain decided to sail past the magnificent St. Lucia pitons and made the ship do a complete turn in front of them! It was somethin else!!!
And dinner was as grande as the pitons:) I started with this KILLER pumpkin soup!!!
While Scott had this VERY flavorful Moroccan chicken salad... And then we just had to split the spinach dip...hey, THE CHEF recommended it...the menu said so! ;)
And for dinner...we both had the grilled NY Strip Steak with Bearnaise sauce and mashed potatoes....this just MELTED in your mouth!!
For dessert...I went with the mousse filled brownie. Yes, that's right MOUSSE FILLED BROWNIE! And it was as good as it sounded!!! Especially with the vanilla ice cream;)
And Scott went with one of his ole favorites: Key Lime Pie....sooooooooooooooooooo good!

Another delicious day;)

Now that I've seen the Mudslide Cookies, I am hoping you asked for the recipe! YUM!:-)

ooooooooo...that would have been a good idea! But alas, I did not ask. I figured some secrets are better left with "the ship" :)
