Valentines Day by Donna...

Here is my Valentines wrap up of the dinner I cooked for Scott:

So, I'm proud to say I concurred Julia Child's "Boeuf Bourguignon"!! We had this for the first time in Paris last October, so I figured it would bring back some great memories:) It almost felt like a right of passage to cook this dish the "traditional way":) I was in the kitchen from 1:45 to exactly 6pm when the dish hit the table, but let me tell ya: it was divine!!!!!!!
I served the stew with roasted garlic potatoes (since they're a favorite)...they were perfect to dip into the rich sauce...yum! I'll post a recipe "tutorial" soon...at least I tried to take as many pictures as I could;)
And I was totally excited about the dessert!!! I made a brownie that will now forever be known as "The Scott brownie" : A coffee, toffee, chocolate chunk brownie with a caramel center......don't even get me started on the amazingness that was this brownie....(I'll post my recipe for this later too...I'm going to need to remember it;)
And since Valentines desserts, to me, just REQUIRES to be chocolaty, ooey & gooey...I served the brownie warm with some TO-DIE-FOR Tahiti Vanilla Bean ice cream from our local Halo Farms...
And topped that bad bear with cool whip (see below:) and a shaved mocha square....
Sooooooooooooooooooo good...we barely needed to wash the dish;)

And I actually managed to only have ONE snafu in my many hours of cooking:) I planned on making fresh whipped cream for the brownie....well, I accidentally left the cream in the mixer for just a little too long and managed to turn the whipped cream into BUTTER! I didn't even know I could MAKE butter...but apparently I can:) hahahhahahahahaha....lesson learned;)
Oh well, 1 out of 3 is not too bad;) hahahahahahahhahaha.....we spent the rest of the night watching "Paranormal Activity" & the Olympics...which = a pretty perfect night for me! :)
Can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring!! Have a great day with everyone you love!
