It's time to...

OK...soooo it's CATCH UP TIME!  I THANKFULLY got my pictures to work last night and now I have a few days worth of goodies to show you.  Which is good since last night's salad was pretty basic:

In the mix:

• Lettuce
• Craisins
• Carrots
• Chicken
• Croutons
• Caesar Dressing
• Scallions
• Grated Cheese

I could have almost called that the "C salad," huh? hahahahaha....   

Which brings me back to the weekend when I excitedly found a nearly empty jar of Almond Butter hanging out in the cabinet.  What to do, what to do??

You got it!  OATS IN A JAR!

If you've never had Oats in a jar (or oatmeal with peanut/almond butter, in general) you MUST try it!  Not only does it pack a MAJOR protein/filling punch, but the gooey 'butter just melts & swirls so perfectly into those oats.  Always a treatJ

Saturday night I headed over to Issac Newton's in Newtown, PA for a gal's night and some good eats.  I ordered the arugula salad packed with walnuts, dried apricots, red onion, blue cheese and topped it off with some london broil....

SO GOOD...although I'd be lying if I didn't say I was completely partial to the 'onion nest with garlic/chive mayo that I failed to take a picture of' that we shared as an appetizer.  They were THINLY diced onions just LIGHTLY coated in a little breadcrumb with a potent KICK from the dipping sauce.  Just. heavenJ

And speaking of heaven...I have a feeling I know what they're going to have waiting for me at the pearly gates one dayJ  Saint Peter is going to have to make a pit stop at Uncle Ed's Creamery in Pennington, NJ before I show up!

Are you ready???

Yes...that is vanilla ice cream with DICED chocolate covered coconut eggs.....

Seriously...that's just insanity, right there!  When would eating ice cream AND coconut eggs ever be acceptable??  BOOM....apparently at Uncle Ed's!  I'm in loveJ

Annnyways, that brings us to Sunday morning breakfast (our first "quiet one" in AWHILE!)  And we kept it sweet & simple with a little cinnamon swirl bread from Great Harvest that I had picked up last weekend...

We toasted it up a bit so the cinnamon & sugar got all gooey, while the bottom got nice & crisp.  To die!

And how can we even FAULT Penny for giving us the TRUE "puppy dog eyes" when the scent of cinnamon and sugar were just swirling through the airJ

And for the 'label checkers' among you, here's something new I thought you might be interested in....

La Creme puts out a line of 100% REAL dairy creamers...No corn syrup or hydrogenated oils to be found on this list!

They come in 4 flavors:  Regular, Hazelnut (mental note: pick up for ScottJ), Vanilla and this cinnamon vanilla.  Now don't kid yourself:  It's STILL cream and you need to not let that wrist get too heavy when you pour, BUT at least you know you're not pouring chemicals.  Sounds gross, right?  It is...so try out La Creme!J

And for dinner...it was with quite a bit of nostalgia that we cracked open our bottle of Arthur Bryant's stellar BBQ sauce for some crock pot pulled pork...

If it wasn't 1092710947 degrees in Kansas City in the summer, I would have another trip planned in a HEARTBEAT!!!!  (our hearts and prayers are with you, Missouri)

As a side, we had some roasted asparagus (coat in olive oil, salt, pepper & garlic powder and roast in the oven at 350 for 25 minutes...thicker stems will take longer) and baked sweet potatoes (with a dollop of Fage)

Sweet memories, Arthur Bryant's is AWE-SOME!  This packed a littttle more punch than my beloved Sweet Baby Jane sauce, but it is just phenomenal!  (now if only we had some simple white bread to round that all up!J)

Soooo...that about wraps up my weekend report.  I'll be out & about tonight for dinner, but never fear: I already have my camera ready to go.  Especially since I'll be visiting one of my favvvorite dessert spotsJ  Stay tuned & happy Tuesday!
