So we put an Asian spin on our dinner last night. This could almost be considered a 'guilt free' Chinese & burger mash-up:) We followed this recipe and made Mu Shu Patties with Seared Napa Cabbage...
I lined up all my star seasonings and got to mixing....
We seasoned the ground turkey breast with soy sauce, steak seasoning, garlic, scallions, ginger, salt & pepper and a drop of sesame oil. Then threw them in the oven at 400 for about 20-25 minutes....
Meanwhile, I sauteed the cabbage mixed with garlic, soy, sesame oil, ginger, salt, pepper and LOTSSSSS of sesame seeds! Love them:) The more the merrier:)
It made for a no-bun burger with all of the flavors of mu shu pork, minus the excess salt & fat = Win/Win!
And with that, our produce bin from our Farmer's Market stock up is just about empty. Sighhh...time to pay full price for produce again;) bleh:P
Buttttt...in "Festive" news: My attempt to pass over the array of Trader Joe's treats lasted until Exactly December 2nd:) Go Me:) They seriously have SO much stuff....and I've had my eye on these since last Friday....
How could I not? Aren't these too cute?? :)
But never fear...I did get in my daily dose of CHRISTMAS Peppermint:) But thankfully in the 100 calorie form of my favorites Vitatops for breakfast:) I had to order a case for the holiday season:)
Me thinks these will go UBER well with my Peppermint whipped cream, no?? :)
Sooo yeahhhhhhhhhhhh...it's FRIDAY!!!!!!! Which means I'm heading back over to Ekat's Potluck today after a Black Friday hiatus:)
Andddddd it also means that TOMORROW is CHRISTMAS TREE DAY! Wohoooooooo! I'm (obviously) so excited:) But before THAT, tonight I'm going to a " CHRISTMAS Yoga Practice" to "incorporate the Advent themes of hope, peace, love and joy." Seriously, how appropriate is that??:) Who couldn't use a little "peace & joy" during this hectic season?? Plus, if the class is tough enough, I might just be able to have another cookie, but guilt free this time;) hahahhahahahah....just kidding:)
Have a great Friday, everyone! :)
ps-I've also updated the Recipe page to reflect all of the November dishes...Let me know if you try anything & Happy Cooking! :)

Why, oh why, would you have a ban on Trader Joe's??? I just can't compute, it's one of my favourite places in the world. Okay, so all their treats may not be so good for the waistline, but come on now, it's Christmas!
Your meal looks tasty too, though!
I love Mu Shu. I can't believe there's actually a way to make ground turkey patties taste just like it. That's delicious news to me. By the way, I'm holding a giveaway on my blog for Orglamix Organic makeup and you're welcome to come by and enter. http://sweet-as-sugar-cookies.blogspot.com/2010/12/orglamix-organic-mineral-makeup-review.html
