Hey everyone! Sorry for my delayed post! I was elbow deep in a flurry of flour & sugar for most of the day yesterday:) And since I knew we were going to be super busy yesterday, Wednesday night I just wanted to take the night OFF from cooking and relax for the night:) And what better place to relax thennnn....
Pete's Steak House is a NJ institution:) This place is ALWAYS packed...which means it's ALWAYS good:)
We decided to split our dinners and got one of Pete's "Special Steaks" with Peppers & Onions...andddddddd we tried one of the night's specials: Roasted Pork & Broccoli Rabe sandwich on GARLIC BREAD!!!!!!! ...
OK!!?? Talk about to DIE for! Pete's cheesesteaks are some of the BEST around, but that pork sandwich was OVER THE TOP delicious:) I think ALL sandwiches should be served on garlic bread;) It just makes it awesome x's 100!
We finished off our relaxing night with a round of Mario Cart...and yes, that is old school Game Cube;) Always our favorite 'Cart;)
Yesterday was busy bee day, since we both took a day off from work to begin tackling my cookie list for the year! We made about 15 dozen cookies including 5 Spice gingerbread bars (combining Fiona's awesome 5 Spice idea & Land O' Lakes bar recipes....wayyyy easier than cutting out little mens:)
I also did 8 dozen of these festive bad bears (our traditional/favorite Christmas cookie:)
And a new recipe: Red Velvet Gooey Butter Cookies (in honor of our first taste of St. Louis Butter Cake this year;)
After that, we were all sugared out, so I was MORE than happy to throw together some spaghetti squash, chickpeas & spinach for dinner last night:) This came together in under 10 minutes thanks to us also cooking the spaghetti squash along with the chicken AND baked potatoes on Monday night;)
Hopefully that balanced out a least SOME of the cookie dough I foolishly nibbled on yesterday:) hahahahhahahaa....
OK...so this week SKY ROCKETED by and I CAN NOT BELIEVE Next Friday is Christmas Eve! I'm gonna try to enjoy EVERY MOMENT these next few days:) Starting today with our holiday party at work, an evening showing of "White Christmas" with my best friend and our Mom's AND a trip to a Christmas lights MECCA tomorrow night;) Stay tuned...I'm sure I'll have LOTS to show you come Monday;)
(Oh and don't forget to check out Ekat's Potluck! Lots of great, festive recipes this week!)

Thanks for your comment, Chef Dennis! It means a lot coming from you (your blog is AWESOME!)
And Pete's is in Hamilton, NJ...about a half hour from Cherry Hill. I know you got a lot of good cheesesteaks down that end, but it might be worth it for a drive to Pete's! (or for Delorenzo's pizza in Trenton = The best ANYWERE! :)
