...judging people's Christmas decorations on Friday night....
(this was our blue ribbon winner...but some people really need a "lights intervention," ya know what I mean? ;)
...and the next second we're having pizza on Sunday night at my friend's baby's first birthday (Thanks again for the ENTIRE PIE "goody bag" Nic & Mare! :) These weekends are going WAY. TOO. FAST!
So between all of the holiday madness fun, I had exactly one meal home all weekend and that was our Sunday morning breakfast in the form of:
Yummmm...Panettone French Toast! Ever have Panettone?? It's a citron studded BUTTER bread/cake. It's super flavorful and SUPER rich...perfect for Christmas time, right?? :)
And, you can't really tell from this picture, also very smoky to cook as french toast;) Scott was in a veritable cinnamon scented CLOUD while whippin up the 'toast ;)
....a few minutes on the smoky griddle, then a few in the toaster oven....
And wallah.....TOAST! :) Not gonna lie...this stuff was heavvvvvvvvvvvy! And rich cake + egg wash = RICHER cake/toast! I actually think 2 pieces was WAY too much...at least for me;) Now I'm just imagining if I added Giada's cinnamon syrup and marscapone (even if I MAY still try that before the season is over;)
Sooooooooooooooooo...onto my EXCITING NEWS portion of the blog! Several weeks ago I was contacted by fellow bloggers at The Guerrilla Gourmet, who were putting together a country-wide project of how each state celebrated Thanksgiving...and they asked me to be one of the New Jersey representatives!!!! I was soooooooo psyched and honored! Sooooooo....check out my NJ entry and all the rest of the states in their Cornucopia Project 2010. You'll get LOTS of ideas and inspirations for next year! :) Thanks again, Eric & Tiff!! It was sooo great to "meet" you guys:)
Annnyway...that's all I got for the day:) Have a great Monday!!!

That french toast is a fantastic idea!! I had french toast for brunch over the weekend, and this would have come in handy!!
