Accomplished Weekend= My Favorite Kinda Weekends:)

Morning Everyone!  Welcome to the BEST WEEK OF THE WHOLE YEAR (or at least I think so:)  I loveeee Thanksgiving week since (lucky for us) we only have:
  • 2 1/2 days of work
  • A lovely Turkey dinner to look forward to!
  • Anddddd the official START of the Christmas season
...all in one week!!!  Not too shabby, right??? :)
Anyway, before I get too ahead of myself, I'll give you our weekend recap for this lovely Monday:)

Well, this sign says it all, no??
Yep, that's right...it was the official end of our favorite Farmer's Market for the season!  Insane!  And alas, as soon as I woke up and say that it was past 8am, I KNEWWWW we had missed out on the coveted item I had been dreaming about all week:  STUFFING BREAD!  (yes, as in bread MADE to taste like turkey stuffing...sighhhhhhhhh...I'll be dreaming about it till next year now!)  As a matter of fact, MOST of Great Harvest bread was already WIPED OUT by the time we got there....AT 9:30AM!!!  Bummer:(

....Buttttt, even though we weren't able to snag some last minute foccacia and French Toast Bread, we DID manage to stock up on LOTS of veggies....

We tried to load up on as many "long lasting" veggies as we could...

Including an abudance of Spaghetti Squash...

And cauliflower the size of a BOWLING BALL....

Along with some seasonal favorites...

And one last treat from Hillacres Farms....
So yep, that was our market wrap up for the season:)  Looks like I'll be cookin with LOTS of veggies these next few weeks:)  Wohooooo!  Should make for a good balance along with all of the upcoming Christmas treats;)

Besides our market adventures, we also were out for dinner both Friday AND Saturday night...and I SOMEHOW forgot my camera on both occasions:(   HOWEVER, I had it geared up for all of our cooking on Sunday, starting with our breakfast.  I wanted to make something EXTRA FALL-y before we get into Gingerbread territory;), so these Maple Walnut Pull Apart Scones seemed perfect...
Mmmmmm....fresh & hot out of the oven, these were just sooooo very cozy:)

And thankfully, we had a warm & cozy breakfast since we spent a majority of our day outside cleaning up the remnants of my blessed FALL...

One of the 2 culprits:

Penny was a big help though;)  She kept us company:

...and tried to clear away the big sticks:)
(Clear away...snack...Whatever:)

And after 4 hours and 2 trips with the truck to the "leaf graveyard," we came home to make dinner to warm us up:  Cabbage & Straw Pasta!  It's cozy, hearty and oh-so-easy!  First you chop up the star ingredients:

Then you get a big pot filled with water.  Once the water is boiled, you throw in the potatoes for 8 minutes:

Then stir in the cabbage for a minute or two...

And then you toss in the pasta....all in the same pot!  Isn't that great???

Once you stir the noodles enough to submerge them, you set the timer for 7 minutes and 'forget it' ;)

Topped with a butter/garlic/sage sauce and grated cheese...this makes an AWESOMME dinner!  Always a hit in our house!
So that was our accomplished weekend:)  Hope you guys had a lovely one as well!!

Penny says: HAPPY (SHORT WEEK!) MONDAY!!!
