Plans out the window...

Well, after a few days of that all too familiar glimmer of ALL DAY! 'morning' sickness rearing its ugly head again...yesterday I could NOT decide what I wanted for dinner.  The only thing that sounded appealing?  A baked potato J hahhahahahha....so I gave Scott the option of THAT or to go here...
He went with option BJ  Isaac Newton's just serves so many cozy sounding dishes that I knew it would just hit the spot last night and nothing else would do! J  And THANKFULLY!  I was right!  As soon as we sat down, I started to feel better (hopefully a sign of better days ahead...)

First up on the menu last night was Scott's introduction to the wonderful Newton's "Onion Nest".  A concoction of lightly fried onions slices (magically-it's really not greasy at all!  Unlike those other "onion blossom" disasters) formed into a nest and topped with scallions.  But the secret to the amazingness of this dish is that little cup in the back corner...
What's in there, you ask?  GARLIC CHIVE SAUCE!  They must grate FRESH garlic right in there...it is WICKED potent, but Oh-so-good mixed with the onions.  We. smelled. awesomeJ

For my main dish...I knew nothing would do but a simple, classic bacon cheeseburger.  Newtown's really does make some amazing & SUPER fresh burgers.  I always forget how good they are until I take my first biteJ  Bliss!
And the "frites" with the little cup of dipping sauce isn't too shabby neitherJ  Sighhh...and there was happiness throughout the land...J

And while Scott's beloved "Three B's Burger"  (blackened, baconed & BBQ'd, if you're keeping scoreJ) screamed out for him on the menu, he bit the bullet and did something he said he REALLY wanted to do that night:  Try something newJ  And once the waiter told us about the night's special of flank steak skewers, he knew he had met his match...
That AND the fact that he said he knew I was only gonna eat half of my burger, so he was able to get his "burger fix" in there tooJ  hahahahahahha...  He already claimed "now that I tried something new, I can get my three B's next time" hahahaha...good to have a plan!

Andddd after an *ahem* all too-early dinner, we headed home, turned on Jersey Shore for .25 seconds and I was out like a lightJ  Party animals, I know.  Don't be jealousJ

This morning I was up bright & early...and since I had caved and had one of my weekly bagel quotas yesterday morning (thanks co-workers, for dealing with the lovely wafts of my garlic & onion everything bagel!J), I whipped myself up a bowl of banana/chia seed whipped oats with a gob of peanut butter...
The only thing that would have made this dish more lovely would have been if it was ACTUALLY cool & crisp out when I had it.  But, alas, it was not meant to be.  'Good thing' we have our big annual "Fall Football day" planned with some baking and a super cozy dinner on the menu.  Sighhhh....have to go crank up the air conditioner and sprinkle some fake autumn leaves throughout my kitchen.

Hope you guys have a good Saturday!  Enjoy & relax!
